Your uploaded documents are central to the Karamelion experience. We want you to understand exactly how they are handled:

• Your documents remain yours. We do not claim ownership of any content you upload.
• Documents are processed to generate vector embeddings for AI-powered retrieval and citation.
• Your documents are not used to train general-purpose AI models.
• Documents marked as private are only accessible to you and are not shared with other users.
• Community-shared content is visible to other users only when you explicitly choose to share it.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted third parties that help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, payment processing).
• AI processing: Your queries and relevant document excerpts are sent to AI model providers to generate responses. These providers are contractually bound not to retain or use your data for training.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
• Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of Karamelion, our users, or the public.
